| What is PBIS? |
| The East High Administration, Faculty and Staff have
implemented a system called PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavior
Intervention and Supports. |
| Many teachers, administrators, and staff members have gone through
the training to bring a more positive outlook to discipline, in turn
hoping to cut down on the number of office referrals, while making
the climate at the high school a more positive one! |
East High is one of 350 schools in the state of Illinois who are using
PBIS. PBIS has an emphasizes on ptimizing academic instruction, teaching expected behaviors, modeling
and practicing expected behaviors, reinforcing expected behaviors and finally precorrecting to ensure
expected behaviors are displayed.
The East Aurora High School students and staff members have adopted
expectations that are to be followed while here at
school. |
