Every year at this time I find it hard to believe that another school year is drawing to an end. I look forward to this time of year because it is when we recognize and celebrate the many academic and athletic achievements of our Tomcats. Many teachers were the guests of the seniors who will be graduating in the top ten percent of the class of 2008 at the "Top Ten Percent Banquet" in April. This is a time when the academic achievements of these students are recognized, along with the impact that many of our East High teachers have had on their lives.
On May 21st, we will be recognizing seniors who have received scholarships, achieved academic honors or other awards at our Senior Honors Assembly. On May 27th, we will be recognizing the athletic achievements of our Tomcats at the Spring Athletic Awards night. We look forward to celebrating our students' many successes and hope that you can join us.
At the end of this year, we will be wishing several of our veteran Tomcat teachers and staff well as they retire from teaching and move on to the next journey in their lives: Rich Hopp, Doug Lassiter, Scott Martens, Margaret Pernau, Terri Petersen, Brian Powles, and Tom Seckman. They will all be missed! Each has made a unique and valuable contribution to East Aurora High School and we sincerely thank them and wish them well.
We wish the class of 2008 well as they pursue their future plans and goals. Remember graduates - once a Tomcat, always a Tomcat!
